Fat Airic is a beast, you wouldn't really want to carry him around, but if you are going car camping it is the next best thing to your four poster bed!

Spent 3 nights sleeping on one of these and I can't fault it.
It was comfy (despite being only 3 inches thick) and warm, I didn't slip and slide around on it and it doesn't have that 'all at sea' feeling of an airbed.
It inflated on it's own while we got on with setting up camp and took about 3 minutes to roll up and put away when we packed up.
Brilliant, a really good solution.
It's probably too big for backpacking (but there are smaller versions for that) we're 'car campers' though so that wasn't an issue.

Just wanted to add an update to my first review which gave our first impressions.
Well nothing has altered really we've just spent a whole week away with our airics and we got a good nights sleep every night.
They seem to be coping with the rough and tumble of camping well and basically we still can't fault them.
They spent most of the summer rolled up in the trailer (in fact they are still there) but once the camping season is really over (we might go one more time this year) we'll take them out of there bags and store them unrolled over the winter.
It looks like they are still offering 2 for £80 (saving £15) which is a great deal. The colour have changed, lego blue has replaced lime it seems.

With all the talk about the Fat Airic we decided to take the plung and buy a couple for us to see for ourselves. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
We previously had a well known airbed with detachable rechargable pump and thought nothing would beat it.
How wrong were we.
Having tested them out with a weeks camping over the Easter holidays I can safely say that they are the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on - including my bed at home.
Unroll them and open up the air vlaves and that's it - once they have inflated themselves (few puffs of breath from you on the first outing) you're set for a great nights sleep.
No need for insulation below or above them as they contain no cold air so you don't wake with that cold feeling under you.
No sea sick feeling that some get with air beds. no 'wet patches' in the morning.
Just a very comfortable, warm nights sleep.
Each Fat Airic is the size of our previous air bed but if you car camp and have the space it's not a problem.
You can buy smaller and slimer models from Alpkit for cycle/back packer camping.
My daughter sleeps on the floor usually but she has now decided that she will have an Airic as she tried ours out and found it great.
This is the one review I have been waiting for! why? well your problems with sleeping was the first blog that i read from you. so was keen to find if you had solved your issues and pleased that you have. Were airbed ourselves.. but keen to look at this! airbed is fine for us but we have a large double thick double so takes up alot of boot space. and yea its a nice thought to lose that at sea feeling :)
You mention double aibed takes up space, the airics roll up but are not tiny when packed away, they end up as a cyclinder about 15-20cm in diameter and 70cm long.
