Quechua 2 Seconds IIII (2009)
available from:
Decathlon
Quechua
RRP £55.00
description

The bedroom is the right size for 4, extremely comfortable for 3, and fantastic for 2 adults, together with all their belongings. Hikers of a large build will find it more comfortable to sleep along the width, which is 2.4m.

Shoes can be stored inside, between the bedroom and the flysheet. 4 pockets in the bedroom.

Efficient and easy-to-use front entrance: big D door with one zip. No need to climb over your companion to get out.

Instant pitching. Free-standing tent (place it wherever you like, and if there is no wind, there is no need for pegs = ready to use!). 11 pegs and 4 guy ropes included in case you need them. Can be folded in 15 seconds (once you have the "knack" as shown in the instructions and on www.quechua.com)

Like all Quechua tents, the waterproofing has been particularly well-developed, approved in lab tests (WHOLE TENT in a shower of 200 litres/hr/m2!) and in field tests. (PU coated polyester flysheet, 120g/m² polyethylene groundsheet, thermobonded sealed seams.) A breathable polyester bedroom under the flysheet means you aren't in contact with the condensation that forms naturally on the inside of the flysheet.

1 upper ventilation flap at the back, 2 low side flaps, breathable bedroom fabric. You can leave the bedroom door half-open at the top thanks to the 2-way zip. Everything is designed to allow air to circulate between the bedroom and flysheet, for more breathability and to limit natural condensation.

Solid fibreglass poles; highly break resistant.

Galvanised steel pegs, 5mm in diameter, for excellent twist-resistance.

Size and weight.Bedroom: 2.10m long x 2.35m wide. 4.7kg.

Flat disc, 85cm in diameter.

Our tent fabrics block over 98% of UVB and 80 to 95% of UVA rays... for those looking for daytime protection, remember that a lot of UV rays can enter through one open door.

All our tents are guaranteed for 2 years under normal usage conditions (your invoice or receipt gives proof of purchase date and price). In the event of a problem, have your tent checked out in your local Decathlon store.

We recently purchased this tent to help with long journeys into europe to save time and make things easier. Why? well on some destinations it can be 10+ hour drive so the plan is to break this up with a single over night stopover, Late arrival and early depart. This tent provides an easier solution to this. our main tent takes an hour to pitch and after a long drive and the time we just want to settle the boys down for the night grab a quick beer and catch some Z's.

The tent can be pitched in a couple minutes, 5 seconds to remove from the bag, 2 seconds to pop it open and the rest to peg it down! inflate the beds get out the sleeping bags and your done. Sleeping 4 myself the wife and two boys. At first i thought you could fit 2 double air beds. however these were not inflated to full. if you use self inflating mats then you will have no problem with 4 of them. the airbeds take just that little bit extra space. we plan on buying two for the boys and sticking with 1 double air bed.

For only £54.99 you get an instant pop up 4 person with inner. no room for your stuff. for us not a problem. but if their is only 3 of you in this then you would have some storage room. The tent is supplied with no guy lines. but has loops for adding 4 which i have done with ours. its very stable without though. Well ventaled from either side and the rear. also pockets either side on the inner for small light items. keys, phone etc. etc.

Getting back in the bag is a little tricky for me. but my wife seems to have these things wrapped up and dealt with it no problem. One word of warning though as much as it seems like a good idea late at night when have just got home having taken the long trip back from buying your new tent. its advised to check that the yellow strap is secured around the tent if you intend to take it out the bag to look it over in your home. as i found out it springs open in an instant sending anything not bolted down flying! and leaving you pressed against the wall wondering what just happened and your wife rolling around the floor crying with laughter! ;)

Final note: For its use quick one night or as we are now thinking weekend away for the two off us why kids are with nan and grandad perfect! (we purchased the tarp also to provide some shelter on the door, will add the review when i have checked it over)
