Outwell Hartford XXL (2009)

The standing-height bedrooms in all side cabins – made possible by the Outwell Extended Frame System (OEF System) – are one of the major features in the Hartford XXL. Another popular feature is the outside pole construction which enables easy one-procedure pitching – flysheet first, or all as one. This roomy and refined tent sleeps up to 12 persons, and offers amenities such as pre-attached inner tents with O-shaped stow-away doors, as well as handy mesh organiser pockets. Protected by a sewn-in groundsheet, the spacious living area is well-lit by large windows and two skylights, and complemented by the extended porch with a detachable groundsheet.

After the problem with my poles i contacted Outwell and explained what had happened.

They did not admit that there was any problems with the poles but sent me a brand new set in return post.

So we have now had a season using the tent and the new poles and it has been flawless. The tent is as good as ever and it has stood up to some really bad winds no problem. A big thumbs up to Outwell for their customer service and renewing my faith in the tent.

Mmm a little dissapointed

Well i did the first review on this but at the end of my first season with this tent i have found a problem.

The problem is that i have now broken the poles 4 times in 4 outings and it seems there may be a problem here with the poles.

Family bang for bucks, this tent is the way to go

We have used ours on 2 trips now and have to say it is amazing.

The bedrooms easily sleep 2 on airbeds and we had 10 sitting in the main room on a windy wet night last week and it was comfortable.

We erected the tent in a rainy gale and the all in one pitching makes it a breeze.

This tent is huge and stands up to the worst of the weather while still being practical and relatively cheap.

A fantastic tent all round.

Purchased the 2009 model and what a fantastic tent.

SIG (sewn in groundsheet) keeps out all the wind and bugs. Easy to put up (about 45mins).

There is acres of room, it has 4 bedroom pods which will house 3 people each on mats or 2 with an air bed with room to spare.

The center room will seat 10 easily around the card table and has lots of pockets, light holders and cable tidies.

All in alll this is a fantastic familly tent.
