A perfect companion for placing between the groundsheet and underside of the Airbeds when insulation from the ground is required in the colder months.
A simple foam mattress, not much use on its own for a comfortable nights sleep but an essential piece of kit to place under an air-bed for insulation against the cold ground.
This Multimat model offers very good insulating properties from the cold ground. When we had our air-bed we were always warm with the foam mats below the air-bed. Since swapping to a SIM (Self Inflating Mat) last season we haven't needed them as much because the SIM is self Insulating. However in the colder months we did use the foam mats under the SIM and we noticed a slight increase in comfort and cushioning, we also found they added even more insulating properties to the SIM and felt even warmer in the night.
The Mats have been used considerably over the last 18 months and appear to still be as good as the day we brought them. They wrap up quite well and come with bands to keep them in there roll but they do take up a bit of room when rolled up. I find when I unroll them that to prevent them from recoiling just roll them the opposite way and they will then lay flat to the floor.
