When people used to tell me they had a carpet in their tent i used to mock and snigger, but i now have to admit i would not be without one.
The carpet has a waterproof backing and a good strong top layer which is a nice subtle design. The carpet fits the living area of the tent up to about 6 inches from the edges of the tent.
So why have a carpet ?????
Becouse it makes camping a pleasure. When you wake up in the morning and step out of bed the floor is warm and soft, it helps to insulate the tent from the cold floor, it is easy to shake out to clean and it looks good.
I would reccomend a fitted tent carpet to anyone who loves comfortable camping and i would not be without it.

The first time I heard of carpets in tents, I also sniggered and new better, but actually I knew nothing.
The carpet is also a must have with a baby crawling round, it just makes all the difference. It also helps prevent the ground-sheet from bellowing in winds as well as the brilliant insulation properties that Mr 1973 has already mentioned.
