Recommended for sleeping at 15°C. Quilting 200 g/m²
The sleeping arangements of our 2 youngest have always been a bit of a problem.
They both sleep in the same bedroom pod and at first had your bog standard airbeds. These were great exept for the smallest waking screaming during the night becouse she had rolled off the bed, in her sleeping bag, and was now trapped between the bed and the pod door.
The next trial was a pair of SIM's which stopped them getting trapped but they woke up freezing becouse the mat's are narrower than the pod so they rolled on to the floor.
It took a long time to finally come up with an idea that did not involve gaffer tapeing them on to the mat but the SLEEPIN'BED CAMP 2P 140 was the ideal answer.
The bed has an inflateable matress with a fully fitted sheet. The sheet has clips fitted to it and the quilt that comes with it has elastic hoops that fit into these clips so making the quilt fitted and stopping the little ones rolling out.
It has 2 small pillows which would be rubbish for me but for a 6 year old are plenty. The quilt itself is not that thick but is ideal for summer camping and if the weather does go cold then we just use their sleeping bags under the quilt.
Packed up it fits back in to the bag it came in and is quite large but when you condsider it is a bed and quilt and pillows i dont think it is two bad at all.
Although we have no problem with the old fashioned Air bed n Sleeping bag combo! (which we have used for years now!) we have recently been thinking and looking at Self inflating mats due to conversations on the Forum recently We had tried a few in store and had found them comfortable they were not offering any advantage size wise. i.e. take up less space in the car. So we stumbled across this combination recently whilst visiting a Decathlon store in Germany, Baden-Baden store in fact. We were on route to our chosen camp site but had to kill some time as the reception closes between 12.30 and 3.00pm. We were instantly drawn to it because of its packed up size! more than half the size of our existing set-up. We tried it out in store and although the mattress is thinner than the normal air bed its far firmer which to be honest is far better.. you don't really feel the partner moving about. That said our 12v pump was not enough to inflate but it was only a few big puffs through the one way valve and its ready. (ensure you put the fitted sheet on first!) then clip the quilt section on the top. its not like a normal sleeping bag. its more of a quilt over the top. and the pillows... use your own! Not sure it would be so good in really cold conditions.. although we have had a few cold nights i did place our old bag over the top of us.
On the whole were more than happy with it!
