We just got this lantern and it's really nice, if a little fiddly to get going.
Lighting the lantern is a little fiddly as you have to get a light to the middle of the light which is surrounded by glass, and then once lit you have to close the lid which is by then warming up a little.
Once it's lit the light is a lovely warm glow, not like an electric lanterns harsh light at all, that with the gentle hiss of the gas and the small amount of heat it gives off make it a really homely addition to our kit.
It gives a lovely light for sitting in the tent in the evening and reading or chatting. It's obviously no use for lighting in the sleeping areas or for the midnight trip to the toilets.
All in all it feels like a classic bit of camping kit (we had one when I was a kid) and we're really happy with it.
Stop fiddling, don't burn yourself
I always found lighting this lamp a bit scary. Then CampingGaz came with the brilliant idea of producing a lamp with piezo ignition. For example this one:

Same homely warm glow that will make the temperature in a small tent rise a little, but a lot more convenient.
