An essential camping kitchen stand that will store your kitchen accessories as well as a standard dual burner stove.
The wind shield allows better fuel efficiency and safer cooking, and it all packs flat easily for storage.
We borrowed one of these on our last trip and it was a bit wobbly (even after we pegged it down) and tricky to put up singlehanded.
We have a Campingaz Camp Chef which has metal legs that slid around on the flat metal base of the windshield. As the stove has it's own built in windshield we removed the one on the stand and the stove then sat quite well on the wire rack shelf.
The shelves were useful, and it was a good height but all-in-all I think we'll buy a different make/model when we get around to it.
Camping is always a balance between getting away from it all, and taking home comforts away with you. The advantages of a camp kitchen are getting the cooker off the ground; keeping hot pans further away from children; and having extra storage space. This one does all this well, but there is an art is setting it up. It needs to be opened and fixed in a specific order, which is fine when one has the instructions to hand. It can be a puzzle otherwise, and can result in pinched fingers, as I know to my cost. Once up, it is stable, and provides a shelf for a cooker, and two shelves for storing food or pots and pans. The cooker shelf has a windshield, with a space for the tubing from the gas canister.
For packing, it folds flat and is light in weight, but would be improved by having a carrying bag, rather than being kept in its box. This would add to the cost, however, and for its price, this is a useful piece of equipment.
Even Cheaper!
If you go instore they can be picked up for 19.99 however you do need one of the discount cards, which cost £4 for the year so if this is the only purchase you may aswell order online
