Once this is lit it is great, I really like it. The light can go from pretty darned bright to fairly gently. Gas usage is ok, we get maybe a week from a 99p pierceable canister in the summer, obviously less in the autumn/winter.

Two issues would push me to buy one of the piezo ignitor models (but I suspect they use pricier canisters). Firstly, the plastic body that holds the canister can distort in use - ours went out of shape and I had to use a workmate (as in Black and Decker) to get it open again. The other issue is lighting it can be potenitally hazardous. You lift a metal cover, turn on the gas and pup rou (long nosed hopefully) lighter in and away you go - then you have to clip back the metal cover over the flame (?!) I have burnt myself countless times its not funny anymore

If you arent as cack handed as me you might find it perfect, as I said once lit it is lovely
