I received the Camping pack a while ago now and had forgot about it to be honest its only because I was having a sort out that I came across it..

Zac (my 6 year old) took an instant liking to the bag of goodies and wanted to check it all out immediately.... so we decided to review this one together!

I have to be honest my first opinion was gift only! the sort of thing a grandparent might give to one of the grandchildren that about to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh Award, or parents to children off to a festival for the first time.

So the kit itself, certain things stood out to be honest that instantly I thought were pretty good! for example the kit comes with universal sink plug which is just a large rubber disc, however it works really well we filled a sink of water with it and set the timer going.. 5 minits later no water loss so good bit of kit! And this is the problem, when I try to think of what else I get stuck. although you get a fair amount of stuff the quantity's are so small its impracticable, the toothpaste is only going to last one person 3 to 4 uses, the body spray no longer than a weekend and the same applies to the shower gel,Sun tan lotion, shampoo and conditioner.

The head light although a cool idea that the light is removable from the strap and has a magnet on it. its pretty flimsy and cheaply made feeling to it.

So all in all pretty much confirmed my first thoughts. Festival kit perhaps but camping I'm not to convinced..

My View

If your looking for something different to give someone who is off for a weekend festival or wild camp then definitely worth a look.

Zac's View

He just loved it! loved it all, he did say the Toothpaste was a little to minty but still great.

Final Comments

Based on zac's excitement and wanting to try everything out.. (he even wanted a bath to use the shower gel.. he hates baths!) I would also add into the mix if your of with kids for a camp and want a little gift that is a little different but useful, then it could be worth considering The Outdoor Survival Kit for the kids ensuring you remove plastic bags, Dextro Energy Tablets (You want to sleep at night right?) and supervise use of sun tan lotion etc. etc. then you might want to take a look.
