Features
We are a family of 5, our kids are 18, 6 and 2 (all girls). This tent is our 3rd tent and we love it.
The up in one pitching has gone smoothly even in torrential rain and high winds. The initial pitching can be done singlehanded - pegging out and threading in the colour coded poles to sleeves - then you need an extra pair of hands to attach the other end of each pole which create the tunnel tent.
The built in ground sheet means this is a warm and dry tent. The 4 large windows and the colour of the tent make it a light and airy environment.
There are 3 inner tents, a large one with a middle zip that divides it into 2 2man size rooms or a large room and 2 2man size bedrooms. These can be used in a variety of ways making the interior very flexible. We use the large inner for ourselves and our 2 youngest children, then the teenager has a pod to herself and the remaining one is used as a storage area and the porta loo resides there.
The main part of the tent is very spacious and light and easily accomodates our table and chairs, the 2 wardrobe units, kitchen unit and electric fridge.
This is a hefty tent and we have found that it is easier to separate the pole bag from the tent bag so we can spread the weight more evenly across the car and trailer. The ventilation system is great with zips on the outer tent and the bedroom inners. The two entrances means greater flexibilty when pitching and we use the front porch in combination with a wind break to create a great dining and cooking area.
During some particularly high winds in June 2009 we did suffer a tear in one of the pole sleeves but it hasn't affected the stability of the tent this year.
All in all a great family tent with room for everyone to have their own space - which is important to us when we camp for a fortnight :)
