Managed to have the first camp of the year over the 1st May bank holiday. Rather than a full family camp, I took my 7 year son for a couple of nights away. Rather than taking the monster Outwell we have for the full family camp, we took this Vango Orchy. Having never even had it out of the bag, the tent was up and pegged out singlehanded within around 30 minutes with no trouble at all…. Very easy to put up. The poles are colour coded to match colour tags on the tent. The weekend in question was dry, but very windy. The Orchy I found to be very stable and stood up to the wind extremely well.

The tent is sold as a 4 man tent… myself and a 7 year old, both on single airbeds filled a good three-quarters of the bedroom. We used the remaining space in the bedroom to store clothes / bags / toiletries etc.

Plenty of pockets for storage both inside the bedroom and on the front of the sleeping compartment in the main part of the tent.

The clear panels in the room of the main compartment lets in some natural daylight which is nice. Meshes over the main and side door means you can leave the doors open to let the air in and keep the bugs out.

We had electric hookup through the cable entry point (which is nicely placed underneath storm skirt to keep the rain from seeping in through the cable entry).

Overall, it was a great tent for the quick weekend away camping with my son. Will definitely use it again. Not recommended for a family of 4 though if you want to maintain a living compartment separate from a bedroom one. If you happy with 2 in the bedroom and 2 in the main part from a sleeping perspective, this is a great little tent.
