A great stove but the grill is a bit lame.

Just spent a week with this stove and it was great.

Boils the kettle in a perfectly reasonable amount of time. There is enough room for 2 decent sized pans to cook dinner. The burners are very powerful, more powerful than other similar stoves we looked at before buying.

As others have said the grill is a bit lame (hence 4/5 not 5/5), it took 6 minutes to toast 1 slice of bread, it's a bit narrow and I can't understand why there is such a huge distance form the grill to the grill pan.

Packs down really small. The way the gill pan fits on the top under the burner rack is pretty neat. It's a pitty it doesn't fit back in the box with the hose and regulator attached (although with a bit of modifiaction to the box it does).

All in all a great stove despite the grill.

Finally a cooker that will toast

The last review said it all really. I was after a cooker that would toast a round of bread and take less than 10 minutes to boil a kettle.

This is not the smallest camping cooker out there and is not the cheapest but it is good quality. It will boil a camping kettle in about 3-4 mins and it will nicely toast 1 round of bread at a time. A winner for me.

A good size stove with a grill

Camping Chef With Bag & Regulator. Camping with kids means we were not in a position to keep certain things small and light, you simply cannot cook for 4 people on a single burner stove. We opted for the Campinggaz Camping Chef because the price was good and it not included a grill but also a carry bag and regulator. Perfomance is to be as expected, as in nothing compared to the stove at home with four rings! but more than capable as a caming cooker. the space between the two rings is good so larger pans can be used without problem. The grill is a little small, if your toasting two slices you will need to rotate the bread to get even toasting, only a small niggle but cant help but think this was an oversite on campinggaz's part in that i thought it would have been obvious to have made the grill a little larger to accommodate two slices. the tray is large enough to hold them which is a little wierd? Still we have had some great easy meals from this one, and some more advanced ones (French supermakets have alot of boil in the bag stuff! which gives you the chance to cook some meals you would not normally think off!) Recomend you use with a stand, couple of reviews on these on this site if you search either are more than capable of supporting this stove. The whole outfit is ready to go almost only excluding the Gaz! (Take a a flat head screwdriver with you! or you will struggle tighting the hose to the stove)
