Purchase 2 and they can be zipped together to make a double bag!
Dimensions: 193 x 83cm
We've just finished our second season with the Royal Umbria 50oz bags and we still think they're a great purchase. We originally purchased two bags with the idea of zipping them together and I'm pleased to say there's no problems making a double out of two bags. There's a lot more room in them than most average bags and they make a lovely large double, much larger than most standard double bags you buy off the shelf.
They're nice and deep and are certainly thick when first brought. I have to admit ours aren't quite as thick now, but considering we have been using them for two seasons, the fact they have been through the washing machine about 4 times and they were left in stuff-sacs all last winter I don't think the bags can be knocked at all. That said they are still as thick if not thicker than most standard bags and they are still really cosy and warm, we use them early April until early October with 100% confidence. Another good point about them is the outer has a soft cotton feel to it rather than the shiny slippy feel usually associated with sleeping bags, because of this they are also comfy to lie on top of during the day without slipping about everywhere.
The only down side is they did come in cheap thick plastic bags with a weak zipper and not stuff-sacs, but we brought a couple of stuff-sacs, then we realised that it was actually better to buy a larger stuff sac and leave the bags zipped together, one less job to do when camping. We also brought a large under-bed bag from Ikea and they fit comfortably in it without being squashed during the winter. Sleeping Bags can be damaged during long periods of being left in the stuff-sacs.
Full marks for the Royal Umbria 50oz bags from me and a recommended buy for making a large double.
These sleeping bags are nice and cozy. we have just been away with them in England in early May ~7c at night and we were nice and toasty.
They are not mummy bags so you can wriggle around in them and not get into a knot, also as they are square they can be zipped together to make a double.
They are very long, I can get right down inside and cover my head and I'm 6 foot tall.
They come in a bag to pack them away in, not a stuff sack, and they don't go down particularily small but as 'car campers' we don't really mind about this.
