The idea came about because, like most people who enjoy a glass or two whilst camping or picnicking, we always had the problem of where to put our stemmed wine glass. If we left it on the grass it fell (or was knocked) over. Holding onto it was a pain and finding somewhere to safely stand it was a task.
There are drinks holders in most camping chairs, which is fine if you wish to drink from a can or a tumbler. We, like most people, like to drink our wine from a stemmed wine glass (as you should). Other stemmed wine glass holders which you stick into the ground are easily knocked over, and if you are in a camp chair, awkward to reach. Hence the idea of the Wine Glass Clamp was formed.
Our Wine Glass Clamp fits easily to many types of camp chair* and it will hold your wine glass securely and out of harm’s way. So now you can relax and enjoy your well-earned glass of wine from a stemmed wine glass without the usual hassle.
The Wine Glass Clamp is made from a hard wearing, durable plastic and high quality rust free metal parts. So it will be useful for many years to come, which makes this very good value for money. So if you enjoy a glass of wine whilst camping, enjoying a picnic or at outdoor events such as festivals, concerts, a cricket match or just at a barbecue with friends, then the Wine Glass clamp is for you.
Also, for that special occasion, the wine glass clamp also holds champagne flutes.
Although the Wine Glass Clamp was designed to retro fit the camp chairs pictured. It will also fit many other types of camp chairs where the depth of the arm does not exceed 20mm.
We haven't had a chance to try these out while camping yet but we used them at a BBQ last weekend and they worked a treat.
They are made from very solid plastic with with a metal screw clamp. They are easy to attach to our camping chairs gripping the bar at the end of the arm very solidly. They hold a standard wine glass very well, cupping it a little like you might cup a brandy glass. Because the holder cups the bowl of the glass it doesn't matter if the chair it's attached too isn't totally level as the glass can be swiveled in the holder so that it's upright. It's a little fiddly to get the glass out of the holder but not hard.
My only complaint would be that they don't accept all wine glasses, those with wide stems or which have a more fluted shape might not fit.
Apart from that they are great. We'll definitely be taking them along on our camping trips.
Good little invention
Glad they pass the inspection, going to get one for the OH
