Just had a weekend away in this tent with my 7 year old son and it was ideal, easy to put up with ample room for the 2 of us. The tent is meant to be a 4 berth and I think you would find it very cramped with 4 people in it, but for a couple or a family of 3 it's great.

The tent comes in a relatively small bag. I took about half an hour to pitch following the instructions sewn into the bag. It's a pretty simple procedure, there are 3 colour coded steel pole arches which thread through colour coded tubes on the top of the tent and have pins which locate into the base. It was quite easy to locate the pins, helped by the strap that you can lengthen and then pull tight once the pin is located. Once the poles are in place you pick them all up, which as the tent is quite small is not too hard and then walk them forward erecting the tent as you go. You can't really do this bit singlehanded but with the help of my 7 year old holding one side for me we did it with ease. It's then a matter of pegging it out. The guys are a Y shape which is a nice touch as the tent seems to be pulled more evenly. On other tents I've used the guys have a tendency to get the wrong side of the poles, this is partly avoided on the Calisto because lower end of the guys attach to the clips on the poles rather than the tent fabric and so it's possible to untangle them after the tent is up. Having the guys attach to the clips also reduces the strain of the tent fabric which was a nice touch. There are ample pegs with the tent of the usual wire type and a few V shaped sand pegs.

Inside there is one large sleeping compartment which (at a push) would fit 4 but is great for 2, with room to spare for clothes bags. The sleeping compartment is separate from the tent with it's own ground sheet (the tent has a sewn in ground sheet) so you have 2 layers under you when you sleep which adds to the insulation. Being separate also means you can take it out and shake out all the sand your 7 year old brought in with him from the beach.

There are lots of pockets in the tent, some down each side of the sleeping compartment and more up each side of the front of the sleeping compartment. They are not huge but ample for torches, phones, sunglasses etc. There are also a couple of rings to hang a lantern from, one in the living area and one in the bedroom.

The living area is not huge but large enough for 2 to sit in on chairs without any problems. It would be fine for a small kitchen although we didn't try that as we cooked outside. The walls are not very sloped and so you don't lose too much space inside. There are 2 doors (one at the front and one at the side) both with mesh covers so it would easy to keep this tent cool in the summer without it filling with bugs. The front door can be used a porch.

The only bad things about the tent are that it's really too small for 4 (but that's common for tents where their sleeping capacity is often the absolute maximum) and that it's quite heavy, certainly not a tent for backpacking.

All in all though this is a great little weekend tent for a couple or family of 3. Easy and fast to pitch with ample room inside. Great fun to use.

Just been looking at one of these tents for myself and my two boys. Thorght I`d read some reviews first before parting with my hard earned cash. You review was very helpful. I was doubting if it were possible for 1 adult and a couple of "helpful" kids to put this tent up, but you`ve made it clear that it is. Thanks for reviewing and happy camping. I now just need to find the best price for the tent before I buy. :)
