The single layer construction is acommon design for light weight sleeping bags with synthetic fibers as insulation fill. Here is a single layer of insulation between the inner and outer shell. While simple bags often feature sewnthrough quilting with the quilt lines sewn through the filling, leaving the bags with little insulating ability along these lines, our Robens bags feature loose shells avoiding these cold spots throughout the bag.
