This is a guide to explain the process for adding a new product* to the site. The same process can be used to add a link to an existing product.
(*Note: Only product editors can add new products, to become one first register as a user and then get in contact with us using the contact form.)

So... adding a product, basically you go through a series of steps which adds each bit of information one at a time.

1. You start with the URL for a product page (not a URL that points to a generic homepage like http://www.amazon.co.uk but a URL for a product page like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Outwell-Montana ... 815&sr=8-1 )
There are 2 ways to get started with the URL
a. Click the 'add' link on the top of the 'products' page

that leads to a form with a single text box, paste the URL into it and click next.
b. You can drag the 'In-A-Tent+' link from the top right of the 'products' page onto your links bar (see top image).Once it's there you click it while looking at the product page, that leapfrogs the form above and gets you to the next page (basically it uses the URL of the page you are on and posts that as if you had filled it in on the form from stage a)
2. The next page lets you fill in the product name, it will be filled out using the title of the product page. The products on the site have their manufacturer then a space then the product name. Tents also have the year they first appeared in brackets at the end. So for example "Tundra AF400UK" or "Aztec Galeria 6 (2009)"
3. The next page is to help avoid duplicate products, you get a list of products which have similar names to the one you are adding if you see the product on the list select it, otherwise select 'new product' then click next.

4. The next page is where you choose the images for the product, it has all the images from the product page shown, to add images you can either click the images on the page or paste their URLs into the textbox, one image per line. The images you choose will appear below the textbox. To remove an image delete it's URL from the textbox. To see the images you have chosen so far click somewhere else on the page, they will appear under the textbox.

5. Ok this is the last page, it's the page you get when you edit a product as well as the last page you get when you add a new product.You need to fill in the description and RRP for the product as a number without a £ sign for example 5.99 not £5.99, if it's free (like Google Maps) then put 0.
Next are the images, that you chose earlier. You can re-arrange them by altering the order of the list in the textbox.
Under the images are the links, these will include the page you started from.
At the bottom of the form are the tags, these are used to suggest related products, there are tags for each manufacturer and also for categories like Tents, Cooking and so on, then sub-categories like 3-5 Berth.
You have to add at least one tag, most products have 3 or 4, tents for example have manufacturer, 'Tents', design, size for example - Outwell, Tents, Tunnel Tents, 6-8 Berth
Right once you do all that you click save and that's it.
