Camp kitchens again

We still haven't got a camp kitchen. Last time we went away we borrowed a concertina one like the one pictured on the left. It was useful to try one out but that particular model had a a few issues. Firstly it didn't feel stable enough, secondly our cooker slid about on the metal base of the windshield (although is was fine with the windshield removed) and lastly it was a bit small. So we're still looking for a camp kitchen (it's the last bit of kit we really need).

The problem is that there only seems to be 3 designs of kitchen available. In addition to the ones like the one we borrowed (it's a Hi Gear but similar ones come with other branding) there is a type that is made of 3 separate shelves with legs that stack up on top of each other a bit like a card tower.

The third kind comes in various widths. The basic one is a cooker stand with a single shelf and bracing. There are larger versions of this design with one or two extra sections on the side of the cooker stand. This last type seems just what we need, it looks and feels a lot more stable and with a single additional side would give us all the additional space we need.

The problem is they are quite expensive. The one with a single extra side section is around £60 and the ones with two extra side sections are £80.

So I was really chuffed when I found one at the reasonable price of £42. Especially as it had a few extras that made it even more useful. Firstly it has a larder that you zips up to keep the wildlife, bugs and rain out. Secondly it's got a little bag on the side you can use as a rubbish bag. Finally I prefer the way the cooker is lower than the 'work surface'. There is only really one downside ... it's currently out of stock. Hopefully it'll be back in stock in time for our next trip.
