Outwell® has introduced four new ranges of stylish elegant and immensely practical rechargeable and battery powered lanterns to illuminate your pitch as the days draw shorter. No matter the size of your tent or awning, we have a light for you – including the small £6.99 Fuss DeLuxe that, through the use of a motion sensor, makes the perfect nightlight.
The ranges kick off with the £38.99 Superior 300LX and £61.99 Superior 400LX-R – two hand-held lanterns that provide considerably more light output than other similar size units. The exclusive use of Nichia LEDs provide a soft, warm light at 300 and 400 lumens* (lm) for **25 and 35 hours respectively for the 300LX and 400LX-R. Each water resistant lantern is rubber armoured and has a globe that can be removed to reduce shadow when hung upside down from the tent roof. The Superior 300LX has three light functions and a night LED so you can find it in the dark. The Superior 400LX-R has a remote control unit with dimmer and three light functions, which incorporates a flashlight.
There are three lanterns in the Classic range: the £39.99 50lm Colima Classic rechargeable that operates for eight hours; the £29.99 50lm battery powered Cumbal Classic with remote control and an operating time of 40 hours; and the £22.99 30lm Crater Classic that has an operating time of 35 hours and is collapsible for easy packing. All feature a rubberized finish and a compass in the hanger. They are also water resistant and have that unique Outwell design touch – in this case a guyline-coloured stripe running around the base.
Funky designs and surprisingly low price tags characterize the top quality full-featured Deluxe lanterns. The £15.99 34lm Falcon has a single light function while the identical looking £29.90 Fuego is rechargeable and has a dimmer switch. Both operate at 34lm for around 12 hours. The £11.99 20 LED Azuma is dual-function and can be operated as a 10+10 unit that provides a maximum of 40lm for six hours. The £7.99 30lm Acrux is perfect for smaller tents and the Fuss proves a gentle 3lm for 168 hours.
As the name suggests our new Free Energy Lanterns use wind-up or solar energy to provide or top up the power. The range comprises four lanterns: the £14.99 Vento wind-up rechargeable; the £39.99 Helios solar rechargeable; the £13.99 Soley solar rechargeable; and the £24.99 Ignis wind-up rechargeable. The Helios can also be recharged via a 230V power supply while the Soley and Ignis can also be powered by batteries.
*A Lumen (lm) is the SI unit describing the total output of light (luminous flux) from a light source, and is used to measure light intensity. It is defined as the amount of light emitted per second by a point source of intensity one candela within a solid angle of one steradian.
**Indicated operating times depend on ambient temperature and battery quality.
