Was driving home from work tonight (One of the rare days I get to work in Milton Keynes over recent months!) And happened to notice that Cotswold Outdoors had opened a new store!

Not one to pass up the chance, I got in had dinner and promptly pestered the wife into nipping up for a look round (It doesn't take much when it comes to these places, especially those that sell clothes as well).

Located on the old Borders site that closed down last year (Formally the Mercedes dealership) the new store is large and well spaced out so access for wheelchair or pushchairs is no problem! (Refreshing change for a retail outlet) Through a side exit there is a small space for pitched tents. These were looking a little wind swept and not that well presented but that can be forgiven due to how windy it has been the last few days and the fact they are pitched on concrete so not the best base for pegging down :)

On the main shop floor are walking boots, clothes and many other accessories from many brands including The North Face, Berghaus, Merrell, Vango, Outwell, Craghoppers, Osprey and many others. Like many outdoor stores they have small ramp section with pebbles so you can try out walking footware on an uneaven surface. Zac and Blake as any other store took this as a mini playground (boys will be boys).

Upstairs they have retained the original Costa Coffee outlet that Borders had so whilst you shop you can relax over a Latte and work out how your going to pay for it all or browse many of the walking, climbing and general outdoor books (Maps included).

There is also a Trek store displaying all the latest in road and mountain bike range with accessories with staff on hand to assist with your needs. despite being intergrated the two sections are well defined.

Overall a fantastic new addition to Milton Keynes as we are lacking on the outdoor shop front with offerings only from Blacks and Go Outdoors (Bedford 20 Miles away) And certainly one I will find myself in often.
