Well after that great introduction I felt it my duty to tell you about myself and give you a little background.
As the Title says "Camping Forum Guy" Real name Andy I setup and manage the website community www.thecampingforum.co.uk which was started very early this year 2009 after looking for a decent website that provided easy to find photographs of tents and more importantly owners photographs. Why? well when looking for a new tent we had pretty much decided on the Outwell Trout Lake. The only thing stopping us from ordering was the extension, all manufacturer's product shots showed it at an angle so we could'nt really see how much real usable space it offered. This started me searching for a photo which I can tell you took me a long time to locate.
A few months later I decided to set up an online gallery for anyone to upload their photos into specific albums for each tent available. So after trying out a few different options I finally settled on a full community with Forums and integrated gallery so that people could not only share their photos but also chat and get advice on all aspects of camping. (If your not a member then please do come over and join up! Don't forget the real goal here is we want your tent photos so that we can help others when choosing a new tent!)
So me? Well I spent most of my years as child on camping holidays usually Devon or Cornwall. Now as an adult (So I'm told?) with my own family I started camping a few years back as I wanted my children to have the same great memories I have from all those camping trips as a child. We usually take a longer 3 week break during August traveling around Europe having visited several regions in Germany (We love Germany! Amazing place!), Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland and a little of France. We opt for 3 weeks simply because of extra travel time that provides, so its not so rushed, as we usually take in 3/5 stops on our trip.
2010? Well very early planning stages at the moment. not going to talk about this too much as I'm going to write about our planning procces over the coming months to give you an idea of whats involved! But so far were looking at perhaps taking the road train (Train that takes you and your car) to Austria and spending some time in the Alps and then traveling over to Italy and then back up along the South of France. But as I said this is very early planning stages and may change depending on many factors! Our plans for this year took a huge U turn when the exchange rate on the Euro took a nose dive!
Anyway! Enough babble! thanks for reading and will post back soon :)
